Supermarkets
The best supermarket is "Intermarche" 200 metres after you have initially left the A40 at junction 21 at the first island that you come to. Huge variety, good deli and excellent value. Stock up for your stay here. Usually closes 8pm.

St Gervais has 3 mini markets all within the town centre. You pass them all on your way through:

• Spar, on the left corner as you exit the main square,
• Sherpa, 150 metres further up on the left,
• Mini Casino as you exit the next island on the right.

All stock nearly everything that you will need.

Le Bettex has 2 small seasonal mini markets. The best being next to Twinner sports, 200m before you enter Le Bettex on the main road. Car park. Bottle bank. Very friendly.

Car parking in St Gervais

The blue parking lines denote"limited time parking for permit holders only [locals]" you do not have apermit so use the free underground car park opposite the market square on the entrance to the one way sytem.

Piste access.

If you have a car then leave your skis in the car overnight and drive to the main car park at Le ettex. Exit the entrance on foot with skis etc to the nursery slope. Get the tow lift up to the top and ski down to the telecabine.

Skibus leaves le grattague every half hour from 8.50 to the piste. The stop is next to the bottle bank approx 250 m walk up the hill . There is a charge of about 1 euro.
